Q. What is supplied by you?
A. We supply fishing licenses, fishing gear, snorkeling gear, rain gear, flotation noodles, bait, ice, and bottled waters.
Q. What do we need to bring?
A. Anything that makes you comfortable. We suggest sunglasses and sunscreen. However, you may want to bring hats, jackets, towels, books, cameras, specialty beverages such as beer or sodas, and food suck as sandwiches, chips, fruit, etc.
Q. What happens if it rains?
A. If the conditions are deemed unsafe by the captain and he cancels the trip there will be no penalty to you and your deposit will be refunded. The Captain Must Be The One That cancels.
Q. How far in advance do we need to book?
A. We suggest as far in advance as possible, especially if you only have one of two days available to work with. We take reservations as far out as a year.
Q. What happens if I cancel the day before my charter or if I simply do not show up for my trip?
A. You will be billed in full for the charter that you booked.
Q. Will you discount your Key West Charters?
A. No. Not for anyone. Many of us are veterans and some of us are at retirement age so its a wash.
Q. How long have you been in business?
A. Since the early 1990’s.
Q. Why should we go with your company?
A. Because we are simply the best at what we do. We have the newest gear and boats as well as the most professional crew in the industry.
Q. Is is customary to tip my guide?
A. Yes, it is customary to tip your captain 15 - 20% of the trip fare. It is not mandatory, but tips can make up a considerable portion of a guides' income, so they work hard for you and the gratuity is much appreciated.
Q. Do The Charter boats have shade?
A. Charters here in Key West vary from boat to boat for shade. Please learn as much as you can about the boat you have booked. We do recommend that you wear plenty of sunscreen, hats, etc to protect you from the sun.
Q. Do charter boats have bathrooms?
A. Depending on the charter you have booked with us. Please learn as much as you can about the boat you are going out on.
Q. Can I bring alcohol?
A. Yes, you may.

Q. How many people can charter boats accommodate?
A. Our flats boats can accommodate a maximum of 2 passengers.
Our bay boats can accommodate a maximum of 4 passengers.
Our center console boats can accommodate a maximum of 6 passengers.
Our deep sea fishing boats can accommodate 6 passengers
However, we may limit the number of people based on the type of experience that you are looking for us well to show clients the best experience possible. Coast Guard regulations will not allow for us to carry any more than 6 passengers, so even if you have a 7th person and it is a baby, we would not be able to accommodate you without breaking the law. We do have multiple boats, so we can accommodate larger groups.
Q. Can we go spearfishing on your boats?
A. Yes, We offer spear fishing charters that specialize in that.
Q. Can we go scuba diving on your boats?
A. There are trips we offer that DO offer scuba diving. Please inquire
Q. Do we need to bring the captain lunch?
A. It would be appreciated, but it is not required nor is it expected.
Q. Do you have parking where we meet the boats?
A. In most cases Yes. Some cases no. Depending on the Key West charter you have chosen and where they depart from.
Q. Do you offer pick up services?
A. No. We are located only a short distance from anywhere in Key West or the Lower Keys.
Q. Can we bring our dog?
A. Possibly. We love dogs, but that is ultimately up the the captain and the type of trip that you have reserved. Don't surprise our charters with a k-9 friend.
Q. Can I bring a baby?
A. We have no age limits on our charters. However, some charter types would be inappropriate for you to bring a very young child or baby on. Please make sure that you discuss this wit hate agent when you reserve your charter.
Q. Can we extend our trip once we are already fishing?
A. Possibly. If the captain is free after your charter they are usually happy to extend the trip for you. Take this up with your charter captain.
Q. What will the weather be like on my day?
A. Does this sound like a question we can answer? Even the weather man cannot get the forecast right a majority of the time.
Q. The forecast says it is going to rain on my day of fishing. What do I do?
A. Please show up at the designated time for your charter unless otherwise notified. The forecast is wrong most of the time, so fretting about it is really not worth it. If the captain of our charter cancels the trip because of inclement weather there is no penalty to you and you will be refunded your deposit.
Q. Will I get seasick?
A. If you are prone to seasickness, relegate yourself to inshore and calm water experiences. If you go offshore, make sure you take precautions.
Q. Can we be naked?
A. If the captain is okay with it and he deems that you are in an area where you will not cause a stir, then yes.
Q. Is there a fuel surcharge?
A. Unless specified, no.
Q. Will there be cell reception on the boat?
A. Possibly. Gut you are not on a charter with us to talk on the phone so just relax and enjoy the scenery.
Q. Will there be Pokemon Go out there on the water.
A. Yes, this was an actual question.
Q. Can we bring a stripper on a charter?
A. Yes, as long as you do not go over the maximum number of people allowed on the boat.
Q. Do you guarantee that we will catch fish?
Q. Can we keep our catch?
A. That depends. There are many rules and regulations that we must follow and the guides are aware of these rules. On top of that, we want to protect the resource, so killing everything that we pull up is not something that we strive for. When booking your trip make sure to speak with the representative to clarify this point based on the type of trip that you are booking.
Q. Will the captain clean the fish that we catch?
A. Yes, when you return to the dock the captain will be happy to fillet the fish for you.
Q. Can you ship my fish home for me?
A. No. However, your captain can recommend several restaurants in the area that will be happy to prepare your catch for you while you are here.
Q. Can we keep a tarpon?

Q. How far to the fishing grounds?
A. On our inshore trips we are typically fishing in about 15 minutes after leaving the dock. On our offshore trips travel time can be anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes. Some specialty trips may require a longer run than this.
Q. Do we need to catch bait before the trip?
A. We will have bait before you depart the dock. On some occasions the captain may stop by his baitfish trap We are coming in on a cruise ship. Can you accommodate us?

Q. Can I join another group?
A. We mostly offer private charters. However, we do have colleagues that offer split charter for offshore trips and we may be able to hook you up on this type of trip if there is availably. Please call 1 to 2 days prior to set this up.
Q. What if I booked a fly fishing trip and it is too windy for me to fly fish?
A. We will offer spinning tackle for you to use instead.
Q. Do I have get a fishing license to fish with you?
A. No. You are covered while fishing on any of our charters.
Q. What kind of bait to you use?
A. It depends on what we are fishing for and the time of year. Generally our love bait consists of pinfish, shrimp, and crabs. We also use artificial baits.
Q. Can we bring our own fishing gear?
A. Yes, you can. However, it is not recommended as it is typically not set up for fishing in our area. And we provide all high end gear for your use.
Snorkeling / Sight Seeing Charter Questions

A. We recommend taking a taxi (we still do no have Uber down here). However, if you have a car we have plenty of free parking at our marina. Or you can easily bike from anywhere in Key West as well.

A. No, this is not permitted as we will be snorkeling in protected waters.

A. Possibly. We do see "Flipper" often on our charters.
Q. Can we jump in and swim with sharks / dolphins?
A. No. This is considered harassment and is not allowed.
